Chümoukedima, April 1 (MExN): ICFAI University Nagaland conducted its “Kairos Lecture Series” on March 27 at its campus, providing a platform for postgraduate students to deliberate on “Artificial Intelligence in Education”.
Kuzunulu Ruho, MA Education (fourth semester), spoke on “AI for students with disabilities”, highlighting the role of artificial intelligence in enhancing learning for differently-abled students, along with its advantages and limitations.
Vikato Sunnuh, MA Political Science (fourth semester), presented on “Transforming Education in Nagaland: A Study of the Lighthouse Project (NECTAR)”. He discussed traditional education systems, their functioning and limitations, and compared them with the Lighthouse Project, which aims to improve the quality of education in the state.
He noted that the project, initiated by the government, leverages AI to interpret data collected from schools under its ambit to enhance learning outcomes.
Lihyeih T Konyak, MA English (fourth semester), spoke on “Impact of AI on Creativity and Art”, describing AI as a powerful tool capable of mimicking human styles, while asserting that it cannot replace human intent and purpose.
The lecture concluded with an interactive session between the audience and the speakers.
