ICFAI University Tripura 17th convocation conducted

Tripura, September 26 (MExN): The 17th convocation of ICFAI University, Tripura was held on September 23. The convocation started with ceremonial parade by Tripura Police Band followed by the University Chancellor & former Chairman of UGC and renowned Scientist of India, Prof (Dr) V N Rajshekharan Pillai declaring the convocation open. 

Due to health issues, Governor of Tripura Satyadeo Narain Arya, who is the Visitor of this University, could not attend the Convocation. Other dignitaries on the dais were Prof (Dr) Biplab Halder, Vice Chancellor and Dr A Ranganath, Registrar of the University was also present along with the members from Board of Governors, Board of Management and Academic Council. 

Welcome address and the annual achievement and progress report of the university was presented by the VC.  In the convocation address, Prof Dr Pillai explaining the purpose of the education urged that education will be for life, through life and throughout the life. He also said that the context to knowledge and purpose of learning should be how to learn, how to Un-learn, how to live together, how to apply knowledge and skills in real life in the society to become a leader and to learn to live together.

During the convocation, a total of 1163 students received degree, out of which 84 received distinction, 680 got first class and 399 got second class. 46 students received Gold Medal for outstanding performance. Timir Majumder of BA-English secured the topper of the University with 10 out of 10 final CGPA.

The University will welcome the fresher’s admitted in various discipline of the University through the University Occasion “NOVATOS” on September 23 and 24.
