DIMAPUR, APRIL 30 (MExN): The Investment and Development Authority of Nagaland (IDAN) held a series of consultative meetings with various stakeholders and representatives from business organizations and industries.
The meetings were chaired by Abu Metha, Advisor to Chief Minister of Nagaland and Chairman of IDAN. These meetings are part of consultative sessions that will be held with different entities in the business and development ecosystem of Nagaland.
The first round of meetings was held with the Business Association of Nagaland, Women Entrepreneurs Network Nagaland, YouthNet, Entrepreneurs Associates, Educentre School of Business and Nagaland Tool Room & Trade Centre.
During the meetings, Chairman IDAN thanked the various organisations for their cooperation and support while appreciating the various initiatives that have positively impacted the citizens of Nagaland. He urged the organisations to contribute towards policy inputs, suggestions for strategies and appealed to work collectively as one team in the greater interest of the single goal of a progressive Nagaland. The various organisations extended their appreciation to the IDAN Chairman for the positive engagements and for taking the industry stakeholders into confidence.
Nuneseno Chase, Director of YouthNet highlighted the work and activities across Nagaland by YouthNet as an NGO. Metha commended the work and activities of YouthNet across varied sectors and pushed the capacity building program of training Taxipreneurs, Tourist police and Tourist guides to be more in-depth.
During the meeting held with Women Entrepreneurship Network of Nagaland, the founder of Nagabowl Express & Co-founder of Naga Bowl Bakery, Alemjungla Jamir expressed the need for an equity-based ecosystem for Naga women Entrepreneurs to thrive. Metha suggested that the CM Microfinance Scheme needs to be curated to suit the needs and requirements of women entrepreneurs in Nagaland.
In a discussion held with Nagaland Tool Room & Training Centre (NTTC), Metha suggested that the NTTC should be upgraded to higher standards with state-of-the-art facilities and it should aspire to be a centre of excellence and be converted into a world class institute. He observed that the NTTC is the foundation for manufacturing and industry to take off in Nagaland.
At the meeting conducted with Entrepreneurs Associates, Neichute Doulo expressed the potential to create jobs in partnerships with banks amongst other suggestions.
At the sitting with the Business Association of Nagaland (BAN), Metha suggested that the Industrial Policy of Nagaland must include BAN’s suggestions and inputs for effective implementation of the policy covering the areas which BAN has identified. He also stressed that the import of pork in the state needs to be looked into and that the CM Micro Finance scheme needs to be pushed into enhancing the meat production in the State.
IDAN will continue these consultative meetings with various entities in the business and development ecosystem of Nagaland to promote entrepreneurship and economic development in the state.
