IEC Campaign on DA-JGUA scheme launched across Nagaland

Kohima, November 17 (MExN): The IEC Campaign on Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan (DA-JGUA) was conducted on November 15 at Phesama village Council Hall, under Jakhama Block, Kohima District.

As per the DIPR report, the campaign aimed to create awareness and provide essential government services to the eligible citizens of the village. Key services offered during the program included Aadhaar registration, Ayushman Bharat/Chief Minister’s Health Insurance Scheme (CMHIS), and Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY). Along with these, Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) materials were also distributed free of cost to facilitate better understanding of these welfare schemes.

The initiative was part of ongoing efforts to empower rural communities and ensure accessibility to government benefits for all.

Kiphire: The District Administration of Kiphire launched the DA-JGUA in dedicated IEC (Information, Education, and Communication) Campaign. This significant Campaign commemorates the 150th birth anniversary of the revered tribal freedom fighter Bhagwan Birsa Munda and aims to elevate the socio - economic conditions of the tribal villages in the region. The event took place at the Deputy Commissioner’s Conference Hall Kiphire, where MLA & Advisor for Home Guard & Civil Defence, Fire and Emergency Services, Relief & Rehabilitation, S. Kiusumew Yimkhiung inaugurated the Campaign.

In his address, Yimkhiung honoured Bhagwan Birsa Munda’s legacy as an inspirational figure who championed the rights and dignity of the tribal communities. He expressed his hope that the Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan would continue this legacy by promoting development and self - sufficiency in Kiphire’s rural and tribal communities.

The event saw participation from the Head of office, village council members and Gaon Buras, emphasizing the importance of collective community effort. This 12-day Campaign is structured to engage these key stakeholders through various sessions and programs aimed at enhancing Welfare Schemes, livelihood development and cultural preservation in the district.

With the official launch, the DA-JGUA is set to bring sustainable impact to Kiphire by driving awareness, fostering unity and providing pathways for upliftment of tribal communities.

Pungro Sub-Division also launched DA-JGUA at the ADC Conference Hall Pungro. This Campaign, honouring freedom fighter Bhagwan Birsa Munda, celebrates his legacy of empowerment and resistance among tribal communities. The event was attended by District Administration and Officers from the department as well as Head of Offices, village council members and VDB secretaries.

Seyochung Sub-Division also launched the Campaign to honor the 150h birth anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda. The event highlighted the importance of Birsa Munda’s legacy and his contributions to tribal empowerment. The Campaign launch was graced by Officials from the District Administration and the Aspirational District/Block Fellow, alongside Head of Offices, village council members and Gaon Buras.

Tseminyu: Tseminyu District launched the DA-JGUA campaign at DC conference hall Tseminyu at Phenwhenyu Village under Tseminyu Block. The sensitisation programme was attended by the District Administration, Officers from the line department, Town Councillors and Village council members. DC Tseminyu, Rohit Singh (IAS) highlighted the activities of the campaign and the empowerment and relevant of the program. The DC stressed on the need to disseminate the program at the village level and requested all the stakeholders for support and cooperation for effective dissemination of the program.

The special saturation Camp for Aadhaar, PMJAY (Ayushman Bharat) and health camp were held at DC office ground floor Tseminyu. 24 persons were screened in health camp, 17 person availed the Aadhaar facility, 12 persons availed the Ayushman/CMHIS Card during the program.

Longleng: The IEC campaign on DJ-JGUA was launched in Longleng District on November 15, alongside similar activities across the district. The official launch at the EAC office in Sakshi was led by MLA, A. Pongshi Phom. The campaign was launched at the DC office, ADC office in Tamlu, Yachem EAC circle and Yongyah EAC Circle.

The event saw the participation of key officials including the Deputy Commissioner, Longleng, Superintendent of Police, Longleng and representatives from CSOs and the participating 20 selected villages. This initiative aims to foster sustainable development and upliftment of rural tribal communities across the region.

Niuland: The IEC Campaign for DA-JGUA scheme was held in Niuland District across four villages namely Hakhizhe, Hovishe, Hovukhu and Kuhoxu.

The event witnessed mass participation of various Departments and around 300 public across the District. A programme was held in aforementioned villages to highlight about the DA-JGUA scheme chaired by EAC Niuland District.

During the programme, success stories of various schemes such as PM KISAN, Ayushman Bharat and NSRLM were shared by beneficiaries encouraging the public to enroll and reap the benefits of the schemes provided by the Government. Cultural presentations were displayed by the women folks marking the rich heritage of traditional practices which are well preserved in the District.

Saturation camp for enrollment of beneficiaries for various schemes such as Ayushman Bharat, Aadhaar, PM Kisan etc by respective Departments was also held after the formal programme which immensely benefitted the public. Altogether, around 11 persons enrolled for Aadhaar and 60 people underwent free check up under medical health camp in the District.
