Kohima, July 1 (MExN): A farewell programme in honour of the outgoing Chief Engineer, S. Kughaho Sema was held at the Chief Engineer Irrigation & Flood Control Department (IFCD) Conference Hall on June 30.
A press note stated here that Advisor, IFCD Namri Nchang in his brief speech encouraged the staff and officers to follow the footsteps of the outgoing officer for the commendable work done for the Government and the people in general. He also wished the outgoing Chief Engineer good health and luck for his next venture of post retirement and expressed hope that he will continue to give service to the people and state even after retirement.
Reflecting back to the past is important, Kughaho Sema said, as it is the repercussion of the present situation. He acknowledged the pioneering chief engineers and seniors of the department for all their endeavors, hard work and dedication.
He also said that because of the support of the dedicated, hardworking and sincere officers and staffs, the department could move forward and implement various projects successfully. “As government officials we have the deciding factor in our hand whether to stir the society to a brighter future or into a calamity,” he said. He added that officers of the department have a great responsibility and can be an instrument to bring changes in the society and called upon them to uplift and look into the welfare of the common people. He also congratulated the incoming EE Er Tsuktinungsang.
Additional Chief Engineer, Er. Tsuktinungsang shared that the outgoing officers in his years of service have never neglected his duties and that reflects the true leadership. He also stated that his services rendered towards the department will always be cherished and the good work and stewardship left behind will be inculcated by all the officers and staffs of the department.
Short speeches were delivered by Imma Longkumer Registrar, Er Chubawati Chang president IDEA, Er Dikhalo Lasushe, President IDDEA and Er Thefusalie Guozi, Executive Engineer Dimapur Division, family member and Er Achakbo, Agri Department. Special song was presented by Er J Lanu Longchar, EE Mokokchung Division. Vote of thanks was pronounced by Sonu Angami EE Head of Office.
