
Kohima, June 9 (MExN): Inspector General Assam Rifles (North) Major General Manish Kumar visited the Kiphire Battalion of Assam Rifles on June 8 and also interacted with a cross-section of people from the district.
During his visit, he engaged with civil society organizations (CSOs) including Gaon Buras, heads of Tribal bodies, women's associations, students' unions, and members of the media in Kiphire.

Maj Gen Kumar’s visit underscored Assam Rifles' commitment to community engagement and development, stated a press release from PRO, HQ IGAR (North).
His interaction with the CSOs aimed at understanding the unique challenges faced by the local populace and exploring avenues for collaborative solutions, it said.

During the meeting, the IGAR (N) appreciated the efforts of the CSOs in promoting social welfare and development in the region and also emphasized the importance of a collaborative approach to address issues such as education, healthcare, and sustainable development, it added.
The discussions also highlighted the various initiatives undertaken by Assam Rifles in support of the local communities, including health camps, educational programs, and infrastructure development.

Maj Gen Kumar also assured continued support from Assam Rifles for such initiatives, reinforcing the role of the armed forces as partners in progress, the release maintained.
The interaction concluded on a positive note, with both sides reaffirming their commitment to working together for the betterment of the region, it added.
