Dimapur, June 18 (MExN): The Ighanumi Village Council, Zunheboto today strongly reacted to the alleged “false allegation” of Brig Tekugha Jimomi of “6th Bridge Commander and supervisor of Sumi Region FGN” that late Nishena Zhimo, a chowkidar in GMS Ighanumi village was an NSCN (IM) intelligence agent.
A rejoinder letter received here from the Chairman of the Ighanumi Village Council, Ghunakha Kiba, while reacting to the FGN Sumi Region official, said that the FGN allegation, which purportedly appeared in one local daily, against late Nishena Zhimo that he was an intelligence agent of the NSCN (IM) through whose activity the lives of six cadres of the were killed, is totally baseless.
The release stated that such ‘false press-allegation’ against the deceased is only ‘fooling the right thinking citizens and a sin against God’. The release stated that ‘those incidents’ were only factional clashes and not because of late Nishena’s link with any underground faction’.
The release also state that the amount robbed of Rs 3000 by the “cadres” from Vikha VCM, was not of Baptist Church but belonged to the NCRC Ighanumi Village and added “it is true as accused”. “Besides Rs 3000/- his mobile phone was also taken away by the cadres,” the release alleged.
