‘Igniting Minds, Ensuring Future’ - RSU general session held

Dimapur, January 7 (MExN): Razeba Students’ Union (RSU) held its 33rd general session on December 30 at Zelome Village with the theme ‘Igniting Minds, Ensuring Future’. I. Alempokba, Director, Higher Education, Nagaland was the chief guest.  

In his speech, Alempokba advised the Razeba students to catch up with the rest of the community in the field of education. Stressing on competitive exams, he challenged the gathering that IAS official should emerge from the community. He also spoke about the importance of preserving culture.  

A press release from Tho-O Shupao, President, RSU further informed that the chief guest called upon the students to give their best and excel in the various fields. He highlighted the educational system in India and abroad and the differences in quality education. He also emphasised on the importance of skills of a person apart from educational qualification. He further advised the students not to target only government jobs but to focus on private sector as well.  

The Director also raised the importance of protecting environment for future generation and pointed out the effect of burning forest, which ultimately reduces the ferity of soil and its resources.  

Meanwhile, he challenged the students to broaden the mindset and not to remain backward with backward tag and advised the students to read books and make reading a habit.  

Dizii Shupao, Pastor, ZBC prayed for the new office bearers of RSU for the tenure 2017 & 2018 headed by President Medovi Rhi.
