The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), Regional Centre Kohima joined the 36th Convocation of IGNOU, which took place across the country on April 3.
The learner’s batch of 2021 and 2022 (Graduate, post graduate and diploma courses) from IGNOU Regional Centre Kohima, were honoured with certificates at the convocation, which was held simultaneously at Ura Academy Hall, Kohima.
The gathering accessed the countrywide telecast of the convocation programme from IGNOU, New Delhi, addressed by Droupadi Murmu, President of India and Dharmendra Pradhan, union minister for education, skill development and entrepreneurship, Government of India.
Addressing the convocation programme as the guest of honour in Kohima, Prof Ganga Prasad Prasain, Vice Chancellor, Tripura University, Agartala, said that IGNOU has been playing an important role in the area of higher education.
Most of the courses, designed by IGNOU are now available online and websites, he said.
Earlier, Dr Timir Tripathi, Regional Director, IGNOU, Kohima delivered welcome address while vote of thanks was proposed by Dr Mayonmi Shimray, Assistant Regional Director, IGNOU Kohima. The programme was compared by Limaakum Lemtur, Assistant Executive IGNOU Kohima.
