Dimapur, July 2 (MExN): The Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship (IIE) an organisation under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Government of India in collaboration with Directorate of Employment, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Government of Nagaland conducted entrepreneurship awareness and outreach programme at AIDA, Don Bosco School Campus Dimapur on June 29. Aspiring and existing entrepreneurs and students participated in the programme.
A press release received here stated that Gideon L Sumi, District Employment Officer, DESDE, Dimapur welcoming the participants highlighted the issue of unemployment in the state and appreciated IIE for their efforts to help the youth of Nagaland in enhancing their entrepreneurial skills.
He said the Entrepreneurship Development Centre (EDC) which is being set up in Kohima aims to promote entrepreneurship and enhance the entrepreneurial eco-system in Nagaland and create a robust system for the growth of entrepreneurs in Nagaland. IIE and DESDE jointly will support and nurture the youths of Nagaland to take up entrepreneurship. He said that every entrepreneur must undergo regular Entrepreneurship Development Programmes in order to be successful.
Resource person, Nukuzo Phesao, Proprietor of Warehouse 103, which provides food packaging solutions and processing machinery, shared the scope of entrepreneurship in context of Nagaland through his own experience as an entrepreneur.
Er Puteu Phesao, Director and Proprietor of Pristine Foods and resource person of the second session, discussed on how to start a new business venture and the pre-requisites to become a successful entrepreneur.
The session concluded with the brief description of the EDC guidelines and information to the participants.
