
Thiruvananthapuram, January 20 (Agencies): The Indian Institute of Information Technology & Management, Kerala (IIITM-K), based on the Technopark campus here, has entered into an agreement with Nagaland University (NU), Kohima, to promote Technology-Enhanced Learning and Teaching (TELT) methods in the School of Engineering Technology and other campuses of the university.
K.R. Srivatsan, Director, IIITM-K, and Thejao Vihienuo, Registrar, Nagaland University, signed a memorandum of understanding at the Raj Bhavan, Kohima, in the presence of Nagaland Governor K. Sankaranarayanan earlier this month.
Vice-Chancellor of Nagaland University Prof. Kannan was also present at the function.
The MoU formalises IITM-K’s offer to train teachers on the use of the National Programme of Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL) content and effective practice of e-Learning.
The cooperation extends to developing programmes related to education, research and development and capacity building in fields related to TELT, Information and Computational Sciences and application of IT in diverse domains.
The NU and the IIITM-K plan to work together to establish an education grid across Nagaland University and its affiliated colleges. The two institutions will also develop a plan to expand NU’s education grid to cover other places in the North-East.
