Dimapur, September 9 (MExN): YouthNet has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the IIM Calcutta Innovation Park (IIMCIP) to promote entrepreneurship and innovation in Nagaland.
This partnership aims to support startups through business model development, mentorship, market access, and funding opportunities. The MoU was signed at the YouthNet office in Dimapur by Nunesenuo Chase, Director of YouthNet, and Neikepekho Shosahie, Manager of YouthNet Incubation Centre (YIC), alongside Pranjal Konwar and Sadique Mannan from IIMCIP.
The collaboration seeks to empower entrepreneurs by offering comprehensive support, including proof of concept (POC) development, access to technology, mentorship, capacity building, and market linkages. Both YouthNet and IIMCIP aim to create regional and national success stories by leveraging their combined expertise and resources.
The MoU is an extension of a previous partnership between the two organizations, designed to help startups scale and commercialize their ideas.
The signing ceremony also hosted the Technology Incubation and Development of Entrepreneurs (TIDE 2.0) program, an initiative of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY). More than 35 startups participated in this program, which focuses on supporting ICT-enabled technologies across sectors such as healthcare, education, agriculture, financial inclusion, and clean energy.
Entrepreneurs shortlisted from a Techathon held on September 9 will move to the next stage of business plan pitching. The TIDE 2.0 initiative will select promising startups for the MeitY Entrepreneur-in-Residence and MeitY Grants.
