DIMAPUR, MARCH 20 (MExN): The Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore has approved and introduced a PhD programme on climate change.
Titled "Interdisciplinary Programme on Climate Change”, the course has been introduced for postgraduate students by the Divecha Centre for Climate Change under IISc from this academic year onwards. Interdisciplinary programme – Research (PhD) involves participation of two or more departments/centres.
The topics for the programme include but not limited to: Climate Change and Policy, Glaciers and Water Security, Air Quality and Health, Sustainable Water Future, Renewable Energy and Policy, Climate Change and Hydro-meteorologic extremes, Monsoons-Agriculture-Food security nexus, Climate Change and Oceans, Climate Change and Sustainable Forests etc.
Students with Masters or equivalent degree in any branch of Science/Engineering/Agriculture or Bachelor’s degree in any branch of Medicines or BE/BTech or equivalent degree in any discipline or Graduates of 4-year Bachelor of Science (BS) programmes are eligible to apply. For candidates with BE/BTech/BS (4-year programme) or Masters in Science, a valid GATE score / NET JRF is mandatory.
