Peren, November 23 (MExN): Inaugurating the Ikiesing Memorial School at Nkwareu village under Peren district on Wednesday, UDA Chairman TR Zeliang said, “The positive role of teachers and management is important for a school to grow in the right direction.”

Stating that management of school is not easy due to high investment which also demands huge responsibility, Zeliang said, “It is fortunate that there is sufficient land in Jalukie area.”

“Jalukie Town is one of the fastest growing towns in Nagaland and with it, the demand for admission in schools has increased” he stated while adding, “Higher secondary schools in Jalukie have turned down many applicants for new admission due to non-availability of seats.”

Comparing the running of a school to sports, he maintained that teachers are the coaches and students are the players. “And just like any sports team, team spirit is needed for success,” he said.

Encouraging the management and the students alike, he said, “the results from the school will not only make the individual proud but the School in Particular and the District in General.”

While opining that quality education along with skill development is important, he said, “Students should be equipped with the quality to work in any sector, government or private, after their studies.”

Calling for discipline among students, he said, “the most important quality for success is discipline” and “a disciplined child will automatically excel in the things they do, be it in studies or other activities in life.”

He also cited examples of how schools were maintained and how students competed in countries like South Korea and USA.

A press release from the Personal Secretary to UDA Chairman said that former State Chaplain, Kuzierang Thou is the son of Late Ikiesing and proprietor of Ikiesing Memorial School.
