Dimapur, May 20 (MExN): Security Force in a joint operation with State police apprehended 16 individuals with illegal Teak wood and Areca Nuts in general area Naga Check Gate, Kohima district on May 15.
The HQ IGAR (N) in an update stated that “based on a specific input,” the joint operation was conducted. The team recovered 150 tonnes of illegal Burma Teak worth approx Rs 1.8 crore and 400 bags of Areca Nuts worth approx Rs 1.3 crore.
“The apprehended individuals alongwith recovered items have been handed over to Forest/ Custom Department Dimapur, Dimapur district for further investigation,” the HQ IGAR (N) added.
