The Annual Science Exhibition of Green Wood School (GWS) Dimapur was conducted at the school auditorium on August 25 under the theme “Illuminate the world through imagination."
Chief Manager, SBI, Evening Branch, Haokholen Hangsing, who graced the occasion as chief guest in his address encouraged the students to inculcate the quality of sincerity and added that a sincere person have a brighter future. Reminiscing his school days, Hangsing exhorted the students to enjoy life as a student but at the same time focus on their studies.
He said if the students are serious in their endeavour, then their efforts and persistence will be rewarded. The manager also informed on various educational loans offered by SBI and encouraged the students and parents to avail such loans.
GWS Science Club, Assistant Teacher, MC Das, said the exhibition, started in the year 2007 with 18 items which were displayed by the students.
“It’s been 12 years ever since its inception and over the years the numbers of items have increased with students coming up with more innovative ideas and creativity to display”, Das said and added that the event plays an important role towards encouraging and motivating students by providing a platform to showcase their talents in a creative way.
At the programme, invocation prayer was pronounced by GWS Vice Principal Julie Kathand. Later, words of appreciation was delivered by GWS principal Titan Basal.
Judges of the exhibition included Thridikhum, Rabi Roy, Temjenmenla (Group A); Tiatemsu, Sen and Pranjit Laskar (Group B); Moses, Niru and Loly (Group C); Anil Kumar, Budhiraj and Nilhui (Group D) respectively.
