New Delhi, November 17 (MExN): A 14-day exhibition of handicraft and handloom products of Nagaland at Nagaland Pavilion, Hall No-3 at Bharat Mandapam (Pragati Maidan), in the ongoing India International Trade Fair (IITF), New Delhi was inaugurated on November 14. The exhibition was inaugurated by Akali V Konghay, Joint Secretary & Legislative Counsel, Ministry of Law & Justice, Legislative Department, Government of India, New Delhi. 

The exhibition will conclude on November 27. Officials from Thailand Pavilion, Manipur Pavilion also attended the inaugural function. A total of 26 artisans are participating in the exhibition including Padma Awardee, Neihunuo Sorhie and many other prominent artisans, said a press release issued by Pavilion Director, Nagaland Pavilion IITF, New Delhi.

The chief guest, while interacting with the artisans appreciated the creative handiworks and stated to the participants that our rich heritage and culture are embedded in our varied handicraft. She encouraged all the participants to preserve and showcase our rich and vibrant handloom and handicraft through various exhibitions. She also appreciated the initiative of the Government of Nagaland for giving a platform to the artisans to showcase their products.

K Francis Hekavi, Pavilion Director, Nagaland Pavilion appreciated all the participants for their co-ordination with the Department and emphasised that not only products displayed and sold, but also the courtesy shown to the visitors will highlight the image of Nagaland.
