IMD forecasts heavy rain in Nagaland on November 28

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted heavy rainfall at isolated places in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura on November 28 due to the current Deep Depression over the Southwest Bay of Bengal, which is likely to intensify into cyclonic storm.

Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning are also likely in parts of Nagaland and Manipur on Friday, it added. 

As per the national weather agency, the depression intensified into a deep depression on November 26 and is expected to move north-northwestwards, intensifying further into a cyclonic storm ‘Fengal’ by November 27.

As a result, several parts of Tamil Nadu experienced rainfall on Tuesday, with more heavy rain forecasted till November 29. 

Tamil Nadu and Puducherry are likely to witness heavy to very heavy rainfall at a few places and extremely heavy rainfall at isolated places on November 27.

On November 28, heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected at isolated locations, with lighter rainfall likely to continue on November 29 and 30 in several locations. 

Light to moderate rain, accompanied by isolated thunderstorms and lightning, is expected over coastal Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Kerala, and Mahe on November 26 and 27.
