Mokokchung, March 14 (MExN): The Ao Students' Conference (AKM) today announced that it will be organising a public rally from 8 AM at Mokokchung Police Point on March 15.
As per the AKM, the “extensive step” is necessitated due to the Nagaland Government's inability to respond to its demands regarding the shortage of doctors at Dr Imkongliba Memorial District Hospital (IMDH) despite repeated representations and an ultimatum.
In this connection, the apex students’ body of the Ao community has appealed to the general public to bear with the inconveniences that may arise due to the rally and extend cooperation and support for the common cause.
The AKM has been raising the issue regularly and, on March 6, had issued a seven-day ultimatum to the Department of Health & Family Welfare, demanding urgent redressal of the ongoing specialist shortage at IMDH.
