A prayer room at the Imkongliba Memorial District Hospital (IMDH), Mokokchung, was officially inaugurated during a dedicatory programme held at the hospital premises on July 26. The room, donated by the family of Wabang Kichu, Councillor of the Mokokchung Municipal Council (MMC), is intended to serve as a serene space for patients, caregivers, and hospital staff seeking spiritual solace and comfort.
The prayer room commemorates the silver jubilee of the “Christmas with Patients” initiative, first launched in 1999 by Wabang Kichu. The initiative, which began with the simple act of sharing coffee, fruits, and doughnuts with patients during the festive season, has grown into a cherished tradition aimed at bringing warmth and joy to those confined to hospital wards during Christmas.
