IMFL godown busted in Kohima, claims AR

Dimapur, April 20 (MExN): The 3 Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) today claimed that it busted an IMFL godown near New Minister Hill area Kohima on April 18.   It was busted during a search operation of the area after specific input were recieved regarding the movement of consignment of illegal weapons and IMFL from Dimapur to Kohima, informed Lt Col Amitabh Sharma PRO, HQ IGAR (North) in a press note.   A search in the resident of one Atisu Keditsu Angami led to recovery of 1202 cases of IMFL worth approximately around Rs 45 lakhs in the market, it said.   It further maintained that the illegal liquors were being supplied to various locations in Kohima town and its surrounding areas and current seizure will create a huge dent on the illegal trade in the area.     28 AR seizes Illegal Liquor   The 28 Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North), on April 18, also seized Illegal Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) worth Rs 3 Lakhs in the Market.   According to an AR press note, the items which were being smuggled into Nagaland inside a Bolero were recovered during a search operation at Foot Hill Road Junction in Wokha District.   The consignment included 996 bottles of Rum, 96 bottles, Whisky and 308 cans of beer, it said.   It allegedly belonged to one Khom (34 years), a resident of Humtsoe village and Vanremo (35 yrs), a resident of Rhyphim village, it added.   They were handed over to Bhandari Police Station and an FIR was lodged against them.
