Dimapur, March 18 (MExN): Imkong Imchen, Nagaland minister for Health and Family Welfare, has had his bail regularized by the district court in Wokha.
Imchen was presented before the district court on March 15, when his interim bail expired, which then regularized his bail after the hearing. Imchen was arrested on February 18, right before the state assembly election, when the Assam Rifles found a cache of arms, Rs. 1.10 crore in cash and liquor in his vehicle near Longsa Village, some kilometers away from Wokha Town.
He was on his way to the constituency (Koridang) he now stands elected from. Imchen will now need to report to the Wokha district court once every month till the police completes investigation and files a charge sheet. The trial will proceed after that.
