Imkong L Imchen urges villagers to help preserve biodiversity

Mokokchung, April 7 (DIPR): Minister for Forest, Environment & Climate Change, Imkong L. Imchen paid an official visit to Khar village in Mokokchung district on April 7. A public meeting was held with the villagers to apprise them of government policies and programmes being undertaken in the State.  

The minister assured to take up all the ongoing activities with all earnestness and called on the villagers to extend all possible help to preserve forest cover and biodiversity and also requested Division Forest Office, Mokokchung, TN Jamir (IFS) to carry out assessment in this regard. The minister also shared his vision to strengthen unity among the Nagas and the Aos in particular.  

Parliamentary Secretary, CAWD, Taxes, Dr. Benjongliba, Dr. Longri and NN Walling (IPS) (retired) also addressed the meeting.  

Earlier, Khar Village Council member Watitoshi in his welcome address expressed gratitude to the minister and his colleagues for the visit and their concern for the development of Jangpetkong range.  

The meeting was also attended by ADC Mangkolemba, Imtiwapang Aier, SDPO Mangkolemba Sentilong and officials and party workers from Mokokchung and Mangkolemba.
