Immanuel College bid farewell to final year students

Immanuel College, Dimapur which has been accredited B+ by the NAAC organized a farewell programme for its final years students of Arts and Science streams under the theme, “Reciprocating Optimism” at its Auditorium on Thursday.  

Addressing the students, Chairman of the College, Dr. A. Loso Chalai said that they were at the threshold of a new beginning where they would be contributing to the society in their own capacities simultaneously endeavouring in their respective field of choices. He told them not to be swayed by anything in their objective and remain focused at the end goal. “You must be men and women of great courage as you venture into your field of choices,” he added.  

Principal of the College, S.C. Singh described the occasion as a mixed feeling of being emotional and happy. He said the emotional feeling emanated with the thought that the students would soon be leaving the college after togetherness of 3-5 years. However, the Principal also said that he was happy for the fact that the students would soon be graduating and would be ready to give back to the society. “You have left inspirational footprints in our college by bringing laurels to the college,” Singh said. He also pointed out that it was during the time of the outgoing students that NAAC had accredited the college with good grade.  

Speaking on behalf of the teaching faculty, HoD, Political Science, Sinyhunlo Keppen said it was a rejoicing moment for the lecturers since another set of their students would be sent out to soar higher in life. He advised the students to grab every opportunity that comes their way and be living examples for the college.  

Farewell speeches on behalf of the outgoing students were delivered by Vika Yeptho and Kongtung Phom. During the programme, the College presented awards for the Student of the Year to Ato Tzudir (Arts) and Vunglianching (Science). Award for best attendance was given to Leela Kumari. Songs were presented by both the outgoing and remaining students.
