Dimapur, September 24 (MExN): The NSS Unit of Immanuel College, Dimapur, observed the 57th Foundation Day of the National Service Scheme (NSS) on September 24 at the Conference Hall of the college.
The programme was organised to commemorate the establishment of NSS and to remind the students of its values and commitment towards community service, Media Cell, IMC stated in a press release.
Abenthung Humtsoe, NSS Programme Officer of Immanuel College addressed the programme and spoke on the significance of NSS and the importance of active participation in its activities. He encouraged the NSS volunteers to uphold the spirit of selfless service and dedicate themselves to the welfare of the community, in accordance with the NSS motto, “Not Me But You.”
Immanuel College Principal Dr Th Sharatchandra Singh also addressed the gathering. He enlightened the students about the scope and future prospects of active involvement in NSS. He emphasised that participation in NSS provides students with opportunities to develop a sense of responsibility, leadership, discipline and social commitment.
The programme was chaired by Ellika N. Chishi, NSS Programme Officer, Immanuel College.
