Dimapur, March 26 (MExN): Immanuel College became the first secular college to collaborate with Dimapur Municipal Council for cleanliness and beautification of the city by adopting the road from DC Court Junction to Fellowship Colony Junction.
The Eco Club, Immanuel College in collaboration with Dimapur Municipal Council organised cleanliness drive programme on March 28. The objective of the programme was to increase public support and cooperation towards improving the city's living environment and the importance of community cooperation for a cleaner and better Dimapur, stated a press note received here.
The programme was chaired by Wangphoa, President Eco Club Immanuel College, invocation by Vepu, Assistant Professor, Department of Botany, introductory speech by Sharatchandra Singh, Principal Immanuel College and Speech by Moa Sangtam, Administrator, Dimapur Municipal Council.
The programme concluded with the signing of MOU by Moa Sangtam DMC administrator and Sharatchandra Singh, Principal Immanuel College in the presence of Eco Club convenor, Temsutola, Assistant Professor, Department of Botany, DMC representatives, faculty members and the students.
The launching programme was followed by a cleanliness drive on the adopted road by the students of Immanuel College.
