Dimapur, February 4 (MExN): Immanuel College, Dimapur organised two-day Inter-College Basketball Tournament for both men and women at the college campus on February 3 and 4.
The tournament started off with invocation by Dr Meyila Longchar, Counsellor Immanuel College, welcome address by Sharatchandra Singh, Principal, Immanuel College and words of encouragement by Vesupra Kezo, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Dimapur.
Altogether, seven colleges and university including Immanuel College, St Joseph University, Unity College, Kohima Science College, Tetso College, SD Jain Girls’ College and Pranabananda Women’s College participated in the tournament.
Finals for both and women were played on the second day. In the men’s category, Tetso College emerged as Champions, followed by Immanuel College as runner-up. In the Women’s Category, the Champions trophy was lifted by Kohima Science College with Tetseo College as runner-up.
Along with cash, the winning colleges won the Champions trophy and Rs 10000 each while the runner up teams were Rs 5000. In the men’s category, the top scorer was Visulie from Tetso College and in the women,s category Vizotuonuo Usou from Kohima Science College. They were awarded certificates of merit and Rs 1000 each. The tournament concluded with prize distribution and a photo session with the Champions and the runner up teams.
