DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 14 (MExN): With a medal haul of 22 gold, 11 silver and 13 bronze, Immanuel Hall of Y. Zhimo Colony emerged team champion at the 5th Faith in Action Taekwondo Championship 2017which was held at Dimapur Government College under the theme ‘Taekwondo for All’. Hope Academy grabbed the 1st runners-up position with 6 gold, 15 silver and 11 bronze while Vision Home Higher Secondary School was the 2nd runners-up with 6 gold, 3 silver and 7 bronze. In the Taekwondo demonstration contest, St. Mary’s Montessori Higher Secondary School won by 85.2 points and Immanuel Hall was the1st runners-up with 75.5 points. The 2nd runners-up went to Ambush Taekwondo Academy with 66.5 points. Best Official award (Male) was awarded to Coach Sanjay Chetri of Great Commission Higher Secondary School, while the title in the female category went to Alice of Immanuel Hall. The Best of the Best Fighters (Male) title was clinched by Tovi Sema of Little Tigers Taekwondo Academy and in the female category, the title went to Sungjemnela of Ambush Taekwondo Academy. Individual Best Fighters (both male and female) under Sub-Junior Boys & Girls went to Jon and Shreya Das of Immanuel Hall, Kivika Achumi of St. Mary’s Montessori School and Doryla of Great Commission Higher Secondary School. In Cadet Boys & Girls; the winners were Kivinoka Swu and Liike Kibami of Immanuel Hall and Maong Longkumer of Hope Academy. Huqheyi Yepthomi of Vision Home Higher Secondary School and Kevin of Immanuel Hall triumphed in Junior Boys, while Akai H. Neho of Kuhuboto Taekwondo Academy and Shivam Arora of St. Mary’s Montessori Higher Secondary School won in the Senior Boys Category. The Best Discipline trophy went to Kuhuboto Taekwondo Academy. The championship which was held on October 6 & 7 was graced by Khekaho Assumi, Parliamentary Secretary, Youth Recourses and Sports, Music Task Force as the chief guest. Trophies and prizes were handed over to the winners by guest of honour, Javed Ahmed, Engineer in Shipping, Indian Navy at the concluding day of the championship.
