With a Naga dao (machete) as his election symbol, Imotemjen on Thursday declared his candidature to contest the DMC elections from ward no 13 as an independent candidate.
Speaking at the declaration programme at his residence in Dimapur, Imotemjen spelled out his objectives of working for the ward and its people if elected. Among his primary objectives, the candidate expressed his endeavour to provide potable water and good roads within the ward.
Imotemjen also talked about his concern for the young unemployed youth and offered to guide and show them ways for self-sustenance.
Another area of his concern was to build an old age home with assistance from the government.
Imotemjen also thanked two candidates from the same ward who were also in the fray but withdrew their candidature to support him.
Stating that progress and development would not be possible without people’s support, Imotemjen appealed the people to extend their support and cooperation to him.
Ikato, who withdrew his candidature to support Imotemjen also spoke at the programme.
host of leaders from Landmark Colony, Oriental Colony, Midland Duncan (B), Youth Wing and others also spoke at the programme.
