Women protesting after a bomb exploded outside a former MLAs home in Imphal.

A bomb exploded at the residential gate of a former MLA from Kshetrigao constituency, Nahakpam Indrajit, at Thambalkhong Sabal Leikai under Porompat Police Station of Imphal East district around 10:20 pm on Saturday.
It is reported that an unknown person lobbed a hand grenade at the gate by taking advantage of the streets getting deserted owing to rain. However, no one was hurt in the incident.
Teams of CID, Forensic experts and Porompat Police arrived at the scene and a case was registered later.
Meanwhile, womenfolk organized a sit-in-protest at the locality today. They condemned the incident strongly and demanded a clarification from the individuals or organization involved in the crime to clarify on it.
Placards which read “We condemn bomb explosion at residential area” and “We want peace” among others were displayed in the sit-in-protest. No one has claimed responsibility for the incident till date.
