Dimapur, May 1 (MExN): The Deputy Commissioner Dimapur Anoop Khinchi has banned the imports of pigs into the district with “immediate effect.” The DC in the order stated that the ban has been imposed following the concerns shared by State’s Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services on April 28 on the reported outbreak of ‘African Swine Fever’ (ASF) and high mortality of pigs in the neighbouring states.
Longleng: In connection with the outbreak of ASF, the import of pigs and sale of pork in Longleng district has been banned until further notice. The ban was imposed by the Administrator, Longleng Town Council and is for strict compliance of all concerned, a report from the DIPR stated.
