Impur, September 20 (MExN): With the goal to elevate the socio-economic development of Asetkong range under 23 Impur Assembly Constituency, MLA & Advisor of Law and Justice and Land Revenue, TN Mannen, IAS (Retd) conducted a consultative meeting with the HoDs and various stakeholders of the area at Asetkong Senden Salang, under EAC Kubolong circle on September 19.
Addressing the gathering, Mannen quipped that 23 Impur AC is a unique constituency as Impur is not only the “birthplace of the modern Naga society” but also houses Kubolong, the oldest EAC headquarter in Nagaland. A press release received here said the advisor also admitted with remorse that ‘the standard of Asetkong has depreciated in every level and it is up to the collective will of the area people to uplift it to the next level.’
He called on the landowners of Asetkong to be more generously forthcoming so that the area can invite prospective private and public parties to invest and implement various developmental projects and schemes for the benefit of the people.
For the holistic growth of Asetkong range from an agrarian point of view, he suggested the gathering to adopt and cultivate argro based plants and fruits according to the suitability and climatic conditions of a particular village topography.
Lastly, the Advisor encouraged the gathering to foster unity amongst themselves by desisting from partisan politicking and concentrate all their energy on defending and elevating the honour of Asetkong range together.
During the discussion hour, Thangi Mannen, IAS (Retd) wife of the Advisor shared with the gathering on the good prospect of tourism and horticulture based farming in Asetkong area.
A few projects are viable to be undertaken in the future, she observed and said, “The willingness to grasp the opportunity should come, at the end of the day, from the people of the area.”
Earlier, a brief highlight about Kubolong circle was delivered by Seyievilie, EAC, Kubolong.
All the HoDs under EAC Kubolong circle and five representatives from each village council including Chairman, Secretary & VDB Secretary, representatives from Kubolong and Yisemyong Adhoc Committee and representatives from Asetkong Mungdang, AKTM and various NGOs participated in the consultative meeting and discussion hour.
