Imtilemba urge Nagas to maintain unity

TUENSANG (MExN): Minister for Transport & Communication, Labour & Employment Imtilemba Sangtam today stressed the need to maintain unity among the Nagas. “It is the bounden duty to think and speak for Naga unity,” the Minister told 4th general session of the Phir Ahir, Holongba, Sangsomong and New Sangsomong this morning.

Imtilemba said each and every individual should come forward and contribute towards the unification of the Nagas.

Expressing concern over the present turmoil and disintegration in the Naga society, he challenged the Sangtam people to maintain one voice and work collectively for the upliftment and betterment of the Naga society.

Referring to the PHSNS range, he wanted the union to put more effort evolving comprehensive strategies to make the union stronger in serving the community.

He also challenged the leaders of the range to know the importance of truthfulness and sincerity in their approach, saying that “truth should be our weapon.” 

Referring to job avenues, the Minister reiterated that the Democratic Alliance of Nagaland (DAN) is committed to provide more employment opportunity to the unemployed youth in the state.

In this respect, he asked the youths to make the best use of the government policies and programmes so that the government would continue to assist them.

Later, Imtilemba donated Rs. 25,000 each to host village Holongba and PHSNS as well as Rs. 5000 each to 4 cultural troupes.

Earlier, the programme was chaired by the Union president T. Jungshiba. EAC Chare Akumla, AGM Tuensang A Athrongse, and chairman and members of Longkhim Town Council also attended the function.

The PHSNS submitted a memorandum to the minister regarding the blacktopping of the range road.
