In a first, NFR’s revenue earnings cross Rs 6000 crore

NFR holds 67th Zonal Railway Week Awards  

Guwahati, April 12 (MExN): In a first, the revenue earnings of the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) crossed Rs Rs 6000 crore during the financial year 2021-22, the Zonal General Manager Anshul Gupta informed on April 12. 

 Freight loading of 40 million tons has also helped in boosting up the local economy, he said, while addressing the 67th Zonal Railway Week Awards ceremony at Rang Bhawan, Maligaon, the headquarter of the NFR. 

During the event, Gupta gave away awards to achievers from various departments of the five divisions and headquarters under the NFR.

As per an NFR release, Gupta stated that there has been an all-round increase in productivity and efficiency in the NFR through dedicated and coordinated team work of staffs and officers. 

He also appreciated the hard work being done by employees for providing rail connectivity to the “remotest corners of the region.”

He also highlighted the launching of the ‘world-class’ Agartala-New Delhi Tejas Express Train; completion of railway electrification work as per target, community-based learning programme called Shunting Mela for to eliminate yard accidents and so on.

The NFR also plans to provide health services at far flung stations like Naharlagun, Murkongselek, Imphal etc, Gupta added. 

Meanwhile, the release informed that altogether 96 individual awards, 19 group awards, 34 efficiency shields were distributed for outstanding performance during last year.

Among others, the Lumding Division won the ‘Overall Efficiency Shield’ for all-round performances for 2021-22. 

The Roll of Honour for ‘National Railway Award’ 2021 was also conferred to 8 individuals from various departments.

The NFR construction organisation also received altogether 66 individual awards, 14 group awards and 05 efficiency shields for their performance during the year 2021-22.

The Railway Week Awards have been instituted to recognise the efforts and endeavors of railway employees towards their efficient and dedicated discharge of duties, the release added.

•    Mechanical, Engineering and Security Departments Shield: Lumding Division

•    Electrical Department Shield: Rangiya Division

•    Safety Department: Tinsukia Division 

•    Efficiency Shields for Accounts department: Katihar and Rangiya Divisions 

•    Shields for Commercial department: Katihar and Lumding Divisions

•    Operating department Shield: Tinsukia & Lumding Divisions

•    Shield for Signal & Telecom department: Katihar and Lumding Divisions.
