In Nagaland, who do you trust in the Government?

Some of those who voted  POLITICIANS had this to say:
•    Between the two I will pick politicians, because politicians are not permanent. The politicians have to earn the vote of the people and it is only by persuading the voter that a politicians is able to come to power. So between the two, at least the politicians has to act in accordance with public interest and public sentiments. Whereas a bureaucrat basically functions with relative freedom other than following the orders of the politicians. But considering that the politician in Nagaland has only average IQ, it is quite obvious that the bureaucrat is the main power seat who easily influences the politician to do according to his own. I dont trust a bureaucrat. They take cover behind a politician.
•    The politicians are the only ones who can do something about the situation in Nagaland. Yes, politicians are corrupt, crooks and so on, but still then, at the end of the day they are the ones who can do something for the people. Good or bad, the power lies with them, and so lets hope for the sake of everyone, including themselves, they will choose to do something good.

Some of those who voted BUREAUCRATS had this to say:
•    The bureaucrats are secure in their jobs, they dont have to lie and make false promises to the people. The bureaucrats get a comfortable salary and since their job is secure they are in a better position to serve the public.
•    At least the bureaucrats are people with knowledge, understanding and have gone through some basic and even advanced forms of governance and administration. Given the opportunity by their political masters – the government and the politicians – the bureaucrats are in a good position to bring it a lot of changes to the society. For this they must stop pleasing the politicians. They need to take a firm stand.
•    In Nagaland, most of the progress you see are done by the bureaucracy. It is their sheer hard work and efforts that Nagaland have somehow been able to make some steps towards development. Bureaucrats do all the hard work, while the politicians get all the credit.
•    Bureaucrats in general may be trusted a little more because unlike politicians most of whom are out for quick money, some bureaucrats sincerely work to streamline the system to make it more transparent.

Some of those who voted NEITHER  had this to say:
•    Neither. Transparency is 0%. Ism plays havoc in our society. RTI needs to be more publicized.
•    Naga public are caught between the devil and the deep blue sea and both the devil and deep blue sea cannot be avoided. They are part and parcel of the Naga imbroglio. The Naga politicians and bureaucrats are the laughing stock of the Naga society. Their over dependence on status, money power and muscle power has only alienated them further from the people. They just cannot be trusted.
•    This is a straight 4ward BIG NO..Neither of these two is worth their job. All they do is eat, sleep, cheat, swindle, rob, and do all the politiking behind a comman man's back.
•    Both bureaucrats and politicians needs to become more transparent and accountable before public can trust them
•    Neither….birds of same feathers flock together!
•    I personally don’t trust either of them! The right is proved wrong with all their dirty wisdom. Those of us who are guided by the service rule are been twisted and bended at their own whims. Anyone close to politicians make their bottom line problem a top priority which deprive many probable and sincere employees shed their silent tears. 2 Notorious ideologist make make things straight, so they have bodyguards, dogs and high brick walls.
•    One is a thief with a smile, the other, a robber with a smile..ha!
•    Neither. They are like rhythm and melody in a musical composition inseparable. Together they make much noise without any real work. And corruption is their theme.
•    I trust neither because in the history of the Nagas, the politicians and the bureaucrats have not yet proved that they care for the people, neither have they through their action shown any genuineness for the welfare of the Nagas. Rather they have always been on the opposing side of the general public.
•    In Nagaland, we dont trust anybody.
•    They work in full co-ordination to ensure that development funds do not reach the intended beneficiaries. They are the biggest crooks and responsible the state of non-development of the state.
•    Trust is a very serious word with deep meaning. I cannot put my trust on the politicians and bureaucrats because they just have not earned my trust. In fact all they have done through their words and action is to sow more distrust on them.
•    I don't trust neither the Politicians nor the Bureaucrats because both the categories of people who are specially being blessed by God for serving the people are not doing so but they are doing everything in the name of the people with their own vested personal benefit and interest only. I want to caution and remind them with sincere concern through this opinion poll that henceforth they should serve the people with all sincerity, honesty and dedication.
•    Politicians are illegal chorpattis, the Bureaucrats are the Legal Chors.
•    Nagaland: A dry state with full of drunkards, xtian dominated state with full of corruptions. We can neither trust politicians nor bureaucrats. IN our daily news we often read money being sanctioned by the central government to various departments, but where do all the funds flow? Are they faithfully being implemented for the development? I wonder what type of Christians is our leaders in Nagaland!! The salary they get is secondary. Briberies and easy money have become a traditional practice. 1 or 2 innocent people from bribery are labeled into foolish people. Sadly the words ‘moral values’ and ‘ethics’ are not found in the dictionary of our leaders. Consequently, the word ‘Trust’ has been eliminated from the knowledge of the society.
•    Both politicians and bureaucrats are corrupted…pick pocket number 1.
•    The history of Nagaland government has shown that you can neither trust the politicians nor the bureaucrats. The politicians are too arrogant while the bureaucrats are too sly. Both have complimented and worked together in building each others interest at the cost of the general public. Neither of them have any concern for the Naga people. All they care about is feeding themselves. Unfortunately, the younger generation of politicians and bureaucrats are proving to be no different. They are very uninspiring.
•    Cos the politicians are made up of retired bureaucrats. They are one of the Wolfs in sheep’s clothings. Maaa..ahaahaa.
•    It is a funny question that you are asking, whether u want to be with the devil or the deep sea. Nagas are caught in such a situation where no one can be trusted. Our motto should be 'in god we trust'
•    You cant trust either the politicians or the bureaucrats. But at least between them the politicians are more flexible because they want your votes and so you do have some leverage over them. But in the cause of bureaucrats, they just are so exclusive and the yield their power with no sense of accountability. In Nagaland, the government, which ever party comes to power and no matter which bureaucrat is there, it does not matter, they all seem to be of the same breed. Corrupt, Arrogant and just Distasteful.
•    They have a nexus in corruption
•    Taking past and present into consideration, I refuse to trust any. Politicians & Bureaucrats; I only hope they know what their job profile looks like. Trust comes with credibility. Where is your credibility?
•    Their action have so far not being trustworthy.
•    They are richer than business people. Can they really be this rich if they are honest?
•    We can not trust politicians as their promise is possible but impossible and bureaucrats has no choice then yes boss.
•    Corruption has became a way of life. Nobody can escape from disproportionate asset case if it were to be book, how ever, we cannot even file the case because underground will kill us. The so called guardian of justice will eliminate those who fight for Nagas.
•    One is the thief, on is the cheater. What more?
•    Both are 'hand in glove' with each other
•    The system is not clean, we know what kind of politicians gets elected and the bureaucrats are just their rubber stamp.
•    In the present scenario, the bureaucrats are getting to be more powerful than they ought to be. This is mainly because the politicians under this present government are way too corrupt and have abused their political position. In fact they even have lost their moral standing because of their wayward ways and this has made the politicians lose credibility. This has only made the bureaucrats more powerful and in some ways more corrupt because their political bosses have already gone too far to check anyone. At this time, the bureaucrats if they humble down and keep their pride and arrogance aside, they are in a good position to do some very good things for the society.
•    Most of the bureaucrats seem more political than many 'by chance' politicians. Only few from both stand untainted who are after all not entitled to govern. So it is neither the politicians nor the bureaucrats whom we can put our trust. It will take them some extra miles of dirty roads for better governance when people will have only little or no doubt but to have a trust in them to the maximum extent.
•    It seems to be equally difficult for almost Naga public to trust both and so the politicians and bureaucrats too often find themselves distrusting the general public. In the current context of our state, whether politicians, bureaucrats, civil leaders, you name it, public trust is apparently one of the least things on their minds. Well it is on the one hand wishful thinking for the general public to always expect the government and bureaucracy to do everything on their wishlists and on the other, it is implausible for the government or bureaucracy to invariably take the cynical general public for granted all the time. Mounting trust-deficit between the government and the Naga populace is one impediment behind our inability to make great progress in all round development in every sphere of life in the state. This growing distrust among public, government and bureaucracy needs to be widely addressed through a proper common platform for the greater interest of the state and its people.
•    While there are some politicians and bureaucrats who are honest and transparent, it is sad that our public don’t trust either group.
•    Neither of them because they are equally corrupted. In this present society money matters. A person hard work, talent, determination etc, etc. is overpowered by the use of money. That is why in Nagaland majority of the youth is still unemployed.
