Inavi is now Naga United Village

Dimapur, June 17 (MExN): Referring to the encroachment into Intangki Park, the Western Sumi Hoho today said the two villages Beisumpuikam and Invai “were both encroachers” as stated by the Minister for Forest on March 30, 2007.   “As far as the question of ‘encroachers’ are concerned in the Intangki Forest area, the so-called Beisumpuikam village and the then Inavi village (now Naga united village) were both encroachers as was clearly stated by the then honourable minister of Forest in the August House of Nagaland Legislative Assembly way back on 30th March 2007” a note from the WSH stated.

The hoho also said that the name of Inavi village has been changed to “Naga united village” in the “early part of 2008.” The decision to change the name is ‘well-known’ to the hoho, western Sumi Kukami Hoho and “various tribal leaders” in Dimapur, it asserted. For this reason, the hoho said, the question of changing “Naga united village” into Inavi village does not arise.
