Incessant rains continuing for the last couple of days triggered landslides in multiple locations along NH-2 (61) (Kohima-Wokha) and NH- 29 (Dimapur-Kohima) on Saturday which severely affected vehicular movements.

Two landslides occurred between Tseminyu and Wokha area on Saturday completely stopping vehicular movement for hours. SDO Wokha informed The Morung Express in the evening that the blockades have already been cleared and the road has been opened for traffic.

Meanwhile, the DC Dimapur has informed that there will be total restriction of all movement from Chathe river bridge (Patkai Bridge) to New Chümoukedima (Pakala Pahar Bridge) for a period of two days-October 27 and 28 due to heavy landslide in the area.

Therefore alternative route from Dimapur-Kohima and vice versa would be available only for light vehicles via 7th mile-new DC office-Shokhuvi-Razaphe-Mhaikam-Pimla-Mhainamtsai-Jharnapani/Medziphema and vice versa.
