DRFCB also stated that the Bridge has expired and immediately need a sidewall repair to prevent future accidents. The Board also stated that the addition of more pillars and pipeline post riverbed those is disturbing the free flow of water and causing soil erosion in and around the Urban Haat and Assam Rifle camp during the rainy season. DRFCB said, “It is causing the bridge to fall vertically and may cause major disaster and the authorities are asked to block the movement of heavy vehicular immediately along the weak bridge.”
The DRFCB with the interest of the public urges the Government to start constructing the bridge immediately. “The completion of this bridge will ease traffic congestion and shorten the distance to great extend,” it added.
