Kohima, September 8 (MExN): Zuketsa Students’ Union organized a Combined Teachers’ Day programme at ZAPO Court with Theja Therieh, Secretary, I & P, NTC and President, Chakhesang Hoho, Kohima as the guest speaker.
Theja urged the teachers to inculcate enthusiasm and learning zeal in the minds of the students and stated that every teacher should be a good role model and a guide. Encouraging the students, he stressed on the importance of Hindi subject, according to a press release.
The guest speaker further maintained that the teaching learning process should not be confined only to the four walls of classroom but it should focus on bringing all round development.
He encouraged the students to be receptive, diligent and sincere in their duties and bring laurels and pride to schools and community as a whole. He advised the students not to give up learning as it becomes a liability to the society, the release said. Furthermore, he stressed the value of coordination between teachers, village leaders and students for the development of human resource. He urged both the teachers and students to rise above ‘ism’ and encouraged not to polarize tribal issues.
Mezivolu T. Therieh, Chief Judicial Magistrate, Kohima displayed Visual Talk on Child Abuse and Corporal Punishment in the schools.
The program was attended by seven schools under Zuketsa Circle, VECs, village leaders, Zuketsa Adhoc Committee members, elders and well wishers.
