The indefinite bandh in Moreh and along NH-102 imposed by Kuki based civil organisations has been lifted on Monday.
The bandh was lifted following a talk between the leaders of the agitating organisations and the government representatives held at the office of Hill Tribal Council (HTC) in Moreh on Monday.
In the talk, the government representatives were led by IGP range –III K Jayentakumar and the DC and the SP of Tengnoupal district and other top officials of the state police and Manipur Rifles.
During the meeting, the state government agreed to form a Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the state police to investigate into the serial bomb blasts in Moreh town in recent times. The state government further assured to book the culprit(s) behind the serial blasts within a month's time.
Agreeing to the assurance given by the government, the leaders of the civil society organisations agreed to lift the indefinite bandh on Monday.
The indefinite bandh commenced on Friday night soon after the third bomb explosion suspected to be IED at a spot near the fencing wall of office of the Kuki Student Organisation (KSO) of Moreh branch.
Earlier, bombs exploded near the Moreh police station and near the premises of the official quarters of SIB at Moreh ward no. 8 on October 5 and October 7 night.
