India must take NNC-FGN into confidence: Brig Singnya

DIMAPUR, AUGUST 13 (MExN): The FGN under Brig (Retd) S. Singnya on the occasion of Naga Independence Day on August 14 has thanked the national workers and the masses for remaining steadfast to defend the national cause despite the tremendous hardships, agony and destruction inflicted on people by forces against the nation from both within and without.

“Perhaps all those trials and tribulations are lessons from our Lord to fully trust and rely on Him for our deliverance by turning away from the vanity of human pride and prejudice”, Brig Singnya stated in his message.

The FGN leader pointed out that leaving behind the setbacks faced, people were ready to serve the nation in the just and right way for the cause of sovereignty. The FGN stated that India was trying to confuse the people by polarizing the ongoing peace process with the NSCN (IM) and that any solution to the Indo-Naga conflict can come only with the mandate of the Nagas. “India knows very well that the mandate lies with the NNC and the FGN and that it has to be taken into confidence to bring a lasting and final solution not short of sovereignty”, the FGN stated.

Brig Singnya also thanked the churches, organizations and friendly nations who understand the right of the Nagas and share with its cause in every possible way to propagate it in the international arena.

The FGN also urged that people must address the evils affecting the nation in a united way and not simply look upon others for salvation. “In the task of all round-nation building, let our people rise up in solidarity”, the FGN appealed and challenged the people to serve the nation to make it truly free, both the people and the land.
