Modi, Tharoor, Raghuram Rajan shortlisted for book award Mumbai, October 3 (IANS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Congress parliamentarian Shashi Tharoor and former Reserve Bank of India (RBI) governor Raghuram Rajan have been shortlisted in the popular category for the 16th edition of the Raymond Crossword Book awards.   Modi's name features in the Children's Books category for "Exam Warriors", Tharoor's in Non-fiction category for "Why I Am A Hindu", and Rajan's in Business and Management category for "I Do What I Do".   Several other well-known writers, including Arundhati Roy, Ruskin Bond, Amish Tripathi, Devdutt Pattanaik and Ravi Subramanian are also in the running in different categories. Sudha Murthy is leading the nominations for three different titles.   Sabarimala: Kerala, temple board not to file review petition Thiruvananthapuram, October 3 (IANS): The Kerala government will not file a review petition on the Supreme Court order allowing women of all ages to enter the Sabarimala temple, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said on Wednesday.   "None can stop women into the Sabarimala temple, as the apex court has ordered to keep the temple open for all women. The state government will not file a review petition. Instead, we will implement the order," said Vijayan.   The Travancore Devasom Board (TDB), the custodian of the Sabarimala temple, at its special meeting here on Wednesday, also decided to accept the top court's September 28 verdict.   Kerala HC denies bail to rape accused Bishop Mulakkal Kochi, October 3 (IANS): The Kerala High Court on Wednesday denied bail to Bishop Franco Mulakkal, who was arrested on charges of raping a nun repeatedly between 2014 and 2016. Justice V. Raja Vijayaraghavan observed that there exists evidences against the bishop, who is currently in judicial custody. Mulakkal was arrested on September 21 after three days of questioning and on September 24, he was sent to two-week judicial custody by Judge M. Lekshmi of Pala Judicial Magisterial Court.   Mulakkal, who heads the Roman Catholic Diocese in Jalandhar, Punjab, is the first bishop in the country to be sent to jail on charges of rape.   UP cop sodomizes minor at police station, suspended Lucknow, October 3 (IANS): A Uttar Pradesh Police constable, posted with the UP100 service in Hathras, has been suspended after he sodomized a minor inside a police station for several days, an officer said on Wednesday. The incident took place in the Chamad Gate police station between September 9 to October 1.   The victim is an orphan and was working at a road side eatery when Constable Sanjesh Yadav, 45, operating on PRV 1119 went there to eat and befriended him.   He brought the boy to the police station and physically abused him on many occasions, the boy has alleged.   He went on leave on October 2, after which the crime was reported by the victim to senior police officers. A probe has been initiated by the Circle Officer (CO) City. A medical examination has been conducted on the victim and an FIR lodged, the official added.
