Dimapur, August 1 (MExN): The Executive Engineer of Dimapur Electrical Division, Imsenkaba issued a notice on August 1, informing the public to follow the “General condition of supply 2007,” Department of Power, Nagaland (DoPN) for availing “new service connection from any concerned Sub-Divisional Office” under its Division. The notice was issued as to avoid any “communication gap between the consumers and the department.”
Clause 5(A) of the DoPN “condition” for supply or connection states that an intending consumer will have to pay the cost of the service line and equipments, including the cost of installation immediately on receipt of the relevant estimate from an authorised office of the Department.
The same Clause adds, “The estimate will be valid up to 3(Three) months from the date of issue of the estimate to the consumer unless there is statutory compulsion. The estimate/bill should invariably contain specifically the period of validity of such estimate/bill.”
Clause 5(B) states that the required service (or power) lines will be connected by the Department only after the receipt of payment for the service line charges.
