DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 21 (MExN): In the interest of public and educational institution, the Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA), Home Department has informed that neither the National Disaster Management Authority nor the NSDMA authorize "any private person or organization to carry our mock drills/training on its behalf."
Citing the recent incident at Koval Kalaimagal College of Arts & Science, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, where an impersonator claiming to be a Training Officer of the Disaster Management Authority Tamil Nadu, led to a fatal head injury to one student in an ill prepared emergency response drill, the NSDMA in a circular said if any person or institution claim to be representing NDMA or NSDMA, it should be verified with State Disaster Management Authority.
It has also cautioned the public to avoid such similar scams/false representation in the future.
