
DIMAPUR, JUNE 10 (MExN): The GBs’ Union, Dhansiripar sub-division has appealed to the state government to initiate resolution on the issues listed and submitted by the Joint Co-ordination Committee of villages in connection to the merger of Dhansiripar sub-division and Aqahuto area with the newly created district of Chümoukedima.
A press release issued by the GB’s union, Dhansiripar sub-division reminded that it has called of the agitation launched against the merger of Dhansiripar Sub-Division and Aqahuto area with the newly created district of Chümoukedima following a meeting with Nagaland Chief Minister on May 17 and follow-up meeting convened by the Western Sumi Hoho and Chakhro Public Organization on June 11, 2022.
The issues of recognition of un-recognized villages under Aqahuto area and boundary settlement, separate recognition of Dimasa Kachari as a distinct tribe instead of Kachari tribe besides other issues listed in a letter submitted to Chief Minister through the Principal Secretary of the CMO need to be resolved once and for all, the press release stated.
