Dimapur, November 17 (MExN): The Innerwheel Club of Dimapur converted Government Middle School (GMS) of ward no. 23 Metha colony into a ‘Happy School.’ The school was inaugurated by Puspa Golchha, District chairman on November 12.
The function was attended by the chairman of Metha Colony, Gaon Bura, other village committee members, teachers, students, President Innerwheel Club Neelam Sethi, Secretary Mamta Bucha. The program was conducted by MOC, Sanjukta Bhattacharjee and was attended by other innerwheel members and Rotarians from Rotary Club, Dimapur.
Innerwheel renovated and painted the school building, constructed fencing, Main gate, separate toilets for boys and girls, teaching staff and hand washing stand. The club also provided library, water filter and sports equipment for the students.
Under the RILM programme this is the 4th happy school by Innerwheel club of Dimapur under the chairmanship of Asha Sharma with the collective support of all members.
District chairman Puspa Golchha declared the school as the first happy school in Innerwheel district 324 for this year.
The school chairman and village council members were very grateful to Innerwheel for their generosity and the infrastructure provided and promised to work on improving the school enrolment and attendance further.
The president Neelam Sethi and Asha Sharma informed how Innerwheel is commited to achieve 100 percent literacy and this is the 4th happy school by the club, which also runs an adult literacy centre and provides vocational education for women empowerment.
