Determined to “encourage, support and empower” women from all walks of life, who experience lack of self esteem, depression, loneliness and other emotional difficulties, a four-day conference for women was conducted at The Lighthouse Church in Dimapur.
The conference, tagged ‘Inside a woman’s heart’ is an initiative of the ‘Women In God’s Service’ (WINGS) of the Sinai Ministry with the purpose to facilitate through sharing, prayers and discourses to help them recognize, develop and realize their full potential by enhancing their spiritual and emotional wellbeing based on Christian principle.
According to Dina Ross Longchari, senior member of WINGS, the Conference would bring diverse kinds of women with different issues and dilemmas and the main focus would be to “establish more of God in their lives so that they find solutions and chart a positive way forward.”
The Conference brought together around 100 women starting from May 5 to 8 at the Lighthouse Church, Dimapur with Imtijungla Longchar, writer and teacher and Alemsunep Jamir, pastor, World Impact Community Church as the resource persons.
Talking about ‘A woman after God’s heart,’ Imtijungla opened her sharing by putting across the question, “what can we do to tell the watching world that you are a woman after God’s heart?” She encouraged the gathering to choose God’s way in every opportunity, to stop and pray before anything, to make a heart that abides in the word of God, make a heart that commits to God, to keep growing everyday and to be a giver in every sense.
She also said that Naga women in general lacks in appreciation and it is very important to be an encourager, kind, praising and generous in conduct, speech and lifestyle.
Imtijungla Longchar, author of eighteen best seller books also spoke on the issue of confidence. She said that one needs to be completely honest of oneself, accept responsibility for own action, find one’s traits and talents and work on them and invest time to look within and motivate to become better person.
She also said, “Under confidence is a sickness called fear, which is an emotional virus. It begins from the heart and therefore it is very important to guard the heart.” She concluded saying, “Confidence is all about believing the positive concern of what we can do.”
Women, Alemsunep Jamir said are supposed to be emotionally and spiritually strong and should be righteous and respected. Making aware of understanding women from the men’s perceptive, the pastor of World Impact Community Church said that they should be guarded and strong which is possible only when one has God in their lives.
Speaking on 'A woman who fears the Lord', Pastor Jamir talked about how a woman who fears the Lord receives the Word of God and acts on it. He also brought the examples of two women from the Bible - Jezebel, an ungodly woman and Ruth, a godly and obedient woman.
