
Chuchuchuyimlang, September 5 (MExN): The Village Education Committee of Chuchuyimlang celebrated the 55th Teachers’ Day cum 2nd Immakmangyang Award here today in the presence of a host of digniatires from the Directorate of Education, Kohima, and others.
Speaking on behalf of the Education Department, Deputy Director, I Temjennaro, while appreciating the Chuchuyimlang VEC, challenged the teachers to “inspire, encourage and impact” the lives of the students. She said that teaching, which is a noble profession, comes with a big responsibility and therefore the teachers should take the profession very ‘responsibly’. She challenged the teachers to be an inspiration for the children so that they can become responsible citizens in the days to come.
To the students, Temjenanro reminded them that “school live is just a phase”; what they would become tomorrow depends on how they learn and how they respect their teachers. Therefore, she urged the students to respect their teachers and move on with their higher studies. She added that one can move on with life, but one cannot forget one’s teachers.
The Dy Director also said that the Department of Education is diligently working towards providing the best means and infrastructure for the students and the community; therefore, she asked the stakeholders – the VEC, the students, teachers and the department – for working together so that the true meaning of education would be achieved. Nonetheless, she congratulated the Chuchuyimlang VEC for establishing the Immakangyang Award to recognize and felicitate the exceptional teachers under the Chuchuyimalng EAC Hq.
She urged the awardee to be an inspiration to the students and colleagues and at the same time encouraged the other teachers to take inspiration, be more dedicated and try to win the prestigious Immakmaynag Award for excellence in teaching.
Meanwhile, the 2nd Immakmayang Award for excellence in teaching was awarded to Sanentola, a teacher from GPS Mongta. The award is sponsored by the family of Late Immakmayang, a pioneering teacher in Chuchuyimlang.
Others who spoke at the programme were SMA (SSA) Kohima, Nagaland, the chairman of Chuchuyimlang Village Council, Aosanen Pongen, and others. Er Daniel Meren, Joint Director of NEILT Chuchu town spoke on the significance of teachers’ day’.
