Dimapur, August 20 (MExN): instudia conducted an interactive seminar on “AI as Co-pilot” at Sacred Heart School, Toulazouma, Dimapur, on August 19, focusing on responsible and effective use of artificial intelligence in learning. The seminar was aimed at helping students move beyond using AI simply to copy and paste answers, and instead use it as a tool for deeper learning, critical thinking and academic engagement.

Daniel Changkija, Director of instudia, said the objective was to help young learners develop digital skills while retaining their own effort and curiosity. “Artificial intelligence should expand a student's curiosity, not replace their effort,” he said. “Our goal is to ensure young learners in Nagaland build authentic digital fluency early, learning how to leverage these modern systems to think deeper and work smarter.”

Resource person Vishal Bardewa led the practical sessions, demonstrating ways students could integrate AI into their everyday study routines without compromising academic integrity.

The seminar covered shifting the mindset from viewing AI as a shortcut to treating it as a personal tutor capable of explaining complex concepts step-by-step. Students were also introduced to prompt frameworks for brainstorming project ideas, organising study schedules and handling repetitive tasks.

The sessions further demonstrated how AI could be used as a debate partner and feedback tool to strengthen writing, logic and analytical skills.

“Copy-pasting AI output short-circuits your own learning process,” Bardewa said during the demonstration. “When you treat AI as a co-pilot, you remain in the driver's seat. It takes care of the repetitive heavy lifting so you can focus on creativity, critical analysis, and genuine understanding.”

The seminar concluded with a hands-on question-and-answer session during which students practised framing effective prompts and discussed ethical technology habits.  The school administration and faculty appreciated the instudia team for conducting the session and providing students with practical skills for engaging with emerging technologies.
