Insurance Literacy and School Adoption Prog at GMS Chekiye

Dimapur, March 19 (MExN): The United India Insurance Company Limited, as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility conducted an Insurance Literacy and School Adoption Programme at Government Middle School, Chekiye Village, Dimapur on March 18.   Under this initiative, the Company provided 20 sets of desks and benches, four Kores white boards, ten ceiling fans, three drinking water purifiers and also conducted class room lectures on general insurance.   The programme was graced by Wansila Kharkongor, Chief Regional Manager, Guwahati Regional Office. In her speech, she highlighted the purpose of the programme and explained the concept of General Insurance and its importance in everyday life. During the interaction session with the students, she encouraged the students to take their studies seriously and excel in their academics.

  During the function, Moakumzuk, Branch Manager, UIIC Dimapur Branch Office spoke on the pressing need for awareness about insurance as a whole and General Insurance in particular in our State. He also said at present the Public is not aware about insurance, unlike in the developed countries like US, where insurance subject is taken very seriously.   Toiho Yeptho, Chairman, Chekiye Village Council expressed gratitude to the Company for undertaking this initiative. The function was attended by students and school staffs, representatives from Chekiye Village Council, staff members of UIIC Dimapur Branch Office.
